Art of Relaxation

Punta Banda Sunset Swirl...thanks ADC

Doing my inner Doc this morning.   Someone has to do me, right?

After a grand week of bodyweight training, interval running and weight sessions, I am enjoying another peaceful morning and my well-practiced art of relaxation.

N31 43 14  W116 41 34 is my paradise.  Also known as “Dockerty’s Pub”, my walls hang quietly, rarely reverberating from the cacophony of human storms and drama.

Hey, I said “rarely”, not “never”, you wild thing.  But, my home more closely resembles a monastery than a pub.

With my 48 pumps-per-minute resting heart rate, my mind is also synchronized to that relaxed state.

I’m not anxious about the next moment, the next meeting, the next person, the next….

I’m enjoying this moment.  No “Cuando? Cuando? Cuando?” from Murph and the Magic Tones for me.

Funny thing about my Spanish efforts.   Tengo muchos días que no hablo NADA!   I am much more quiet than most people judge.  So it’s not just my Spanish that lacks practice.  My English is often on vacation.

They are  just words.

“Words are cheap. The biggest thing you can say is ‘elephant’.”
Charles Chaplin

“People to whom sin is just a matter of words, to them salvation is just words too.”
William Faulkner

“How many colors are there in a field of grass to the crawling baby unaware of “green”?”
Stan Brakhage

“This is one of the disadvantages of wine, it makes a man mistake words for thoughts.”
Samuel Johnson  …I have witnessed AND practiced this one often.

Mountains, oceans, rivers, trees, rocks, animals, stars, moons, wind, flowers, weather, colors, hiding & seeking suns and infinite beauty existed before the crazy, cranky creatures on two feet invented words.

Seems that most who worship the pagan word are the word pimps.  That’s right.  Writers like to write about the importance of words.

Even my favorite music utilizes few words.  Listening to jazz with my coffee this morning.

Most of my sophomoric drivel here is about sensory rich environments.  Touch, taste, smell, sounds(especially music) and my #1, SIGHTS, are my passions.  Did not even realize that until a few years ago.

I can still conjure up the wonderful scent of je reviens , the fragrance worn by my first love.  Always and forever, bbitu.

But my mind and my memories are filled with scenery.

You may notice the dearth of photos here with people.  I collect photos of things.  My eyes are my sensual connection to my world.

Yes, several in this area have labeled me a recluse.  Hope that makes them feel better.

Words are like people, I think. Put too many of them too close together and they cause trouble.”
Carolee Dean

Prefiero muchos bezos y masajes que palabras, gracias.
