Contrary to the celebration of Mother’s Day, this June 21, 2015 that Father’s Day is celebrated, the influx of people in the Binational Friendship Park in Playas de Tijuana, was scarce.

In this space that allows interaction between separated families due to the border between Mexico and the United States, some people looked hopeful from the lattice by relatives who promised to keep the appointment.

Also conspicuously absent pro migrant organizations, religious, aldermen, music, party atmosphere. There was no speech.

While some of the attendees was presented at this point as they do every day to talk with your loved ones in the United States, some made the trip from more distant cities in Southern California especially to mark the day, after years without seeing their parents or grandparents, even some waiting to know first.

It was a common weekend.
