My hairdresser Maria has been cutting my hair for five years.
She has also entertained me each time I visit with her wit and unique perspective on Mexico and Americans living in Mexico.
As a guy, the only service I purchase from her is cutting my hair. She advertises manicures, pedicures, coloring and all of the stuff that women do when they head out to makes themselves look 10 years younger.
She does a wonderful job on my hair. I only know this because a few females have asked me, “Who cuts your hair?”. At least I assume the question comes from a complimentary spirit.
Photo above is Maria and her assistants using an unusual curling technique on a recent vacationer to Ensenada. I think Maria brought out the arc welder and chainsaw for this blond female client, after I exited.
Actually, this client had wrapped her hair around the axle of the brush so tightly, that cutting her hair off seemed to be the only rescue. But, Maria and her friends took an hour to carefully cut the brush bristles and untangle the hair, strand by strand to save the poor girl’s scalp, hair and beauty.
Got the young lady out of some significant pain as well.
Maria’s charge for this hour of tender care and tedious work? 100 pesos.
